Quicktime Streaming Server

Quicktime Broadcaster

Quicktime Streaming Server allows the user to broadcast live or prerecorded video over the internet. Using Quicktime requires a bit more setup, but yields a better quality than Ustream.tv. Quicktime also requires an Apple Server as well as a Mac computer from which to broadcast. This is typically setup by having a network administrator setup the server side, and he or she can also help the user to setup the video side as well.

With Quicktime, a different computer must be used for each broadcast stream. So if two options of quality are desired, allowing for users to choose a high bandwidth and low bandwidth option, it would require two computers connected to the video source.

Quicktime Streaming Server is to be run on the Apple Server. Quicktime Broadcaster is what is run on the computer that is connected to the video camera.
